I was so honoured to be asked by BBC Radio 4 to present a programme on the great soprano, Maria Callas to commemorate the centenary of her birth, on 2nd December 1923. And the programme will be broadcast on BBC Radio on that exact day, 2nd December 2023 at 20.00. This is quite a dream for me to be doing! 25 years after I sang the role of Rosina in Jonathan Miller’s production of Rossini’s ‘The Barber of Seville’ I am back, but this time in the wonderful role of Berta, the Maid. I can’t believe that I shall be stepping on my beloved Coliseum stage once more and in front of the glorious ENO audience. The opera, and this production, is an absolute hoot so I hope that many of you will be able to come and see it.
